How did you get on in the Snowman. I remember servicing on the Snowman way back in the early seventies, they used to use studded tyres then. I used to Rally a 1293 Cooper S back in 1973, reg GUS 333, full race Taurus head, 643 three quarter race cam, 45DCOE on long manifold, straight cut 4 syncro box with 4.1 LSD driving 10" wheels, best result was 39th overal and 9th in class on the Border Counties Rally with a slipping clutch half way through. Spectated on the 2008 Colin McRae and was shocked that there were nearly every type of historic rally car entered except a Mini. So now trying to relive my youth and bought a 1976 Mini Clubman 1275 GT rally car. Had starting problems so have fitted Luminition electronic ignition instead of points and now trying to set the timing, do you know roughly the ignition timing of a full race cam or the name of a good rolling road.
