Well, that slight coolant issue i mentioned a while back involved the coolant getting blown out of the radiator overflow pipe. the thermo housing gasket kept blowing and the top hose was rock solid.

This was an indication of combustion pressure in the coolant system. I realised that i hadnt re-torqued the head since i rebuilt the engine a year ago, so I did that and things improved dramatically, but not perfect.

So yesterday I removed the cylinder head, the old gasket didn't seem damaged and there's no damage on the head or block?!?

I used this opportunity to decoke and clean the pistons and combustion chambers

Then I put the whole lot back together again

Seems to be fine now, but only took it a short run as the exhaust y-piece was leaking and I couldn't be arsed fixing it, so just put it back in the garage lol.
